Botox

Botulinum toxin is a substance derived from bacteria and purified for cosmetic use. It can block the nerve signals we send when frowning or crinkling the skin around our eyes, thus these muscles are not able to contract. Therefore, the effects of these habitual movements are reduced, resulting in a smoother skin and more youthful expression. Although the effects are temporary, they can be dramatic.

Microneedle

Microneedling is a dermatological treatment, also known as collagen induction therapy. It is done primarily on the face and involves pricking the skin with tiny sterile needles. This increases blood flow to the skin to stimulate the production of natural collagen. More collagen improves the elasticity of the skin. It is designed to help create a smoother, firmer complexion, and can also help minimize stretch marks and scars from acne.

Multiple microneedling procedures are recommended for best results.

Fillers

As we grow older, it is natural for our facial skin and the underlying tissue to become somewhat loose and droopy. The loss of some of our subcutaneous fat, which is normal, can cause the lines in the face to become deeper and more pronounced.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances and there are several types. They can be injected into localized areas to fill in subtle depressions and smooth wrinkles without surgery. Some can stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen in these areas. Thus dermal fillers can enhance the contours of our face, and are also used to plump up thinning lips.

However, these treatments are temporary, usually lasting some six to twelve months. They will need to be repeated in the future.
