Breast Implant (removal/revision)
These procedures are typically performed as an outpatient procedure using either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation with local anesthesia.
Breast Implant Revision
Breast implant revision surgery involves replacing old implants with new ones. This is frequently performed concurrently with a breast lift and can either raise or decrease breast size while enhancing shape or appearance. It can also be done to modify the implant type, such as silicone or saline, or if implant contents are suspected of leaking or in need of repair. Sometimes capsular contracture may occur when scar tissue tightens or hardens, causing discomfort. This is one of the reasons a person may get breast implant revision.
Breast Implant Removal
If you want to get your breast implants removed, call Dr. Diego Ampudia. Some women need their breasts implants removed because they can burst and leak, move position, or form painful hard scar tissue. Even if you intend to maintain your implants for the long term, they need to be updated every 10 to fifteen years.

Types of Breast Implants
Breast implants are available in a range of sizes, textures, and forms, including round and teardrop implants.
You may also select from a variety of profile ranges ranging from low to moderate to high, depending on which provides the look you want.
Silicone Breast Implants
Silicone breast implants have a silicone outer shell and a silicone gel filling.
These implants are less prone to rippling, and many women choose them for breast augmentation because they provide results that look and feel quite natural.
Silicone breast implants are frequently beneficial to women with slim body frames. The FDA has authorized these implants for breast augmentation treatments in women over the age of 22, as well as breast reconstruction surgeries in patients of any age.

Saline Breast Implants
Saline implants consist of a soft outer shell filled with saline, a saltwater solution. Saline implants are the most often used form of implant, and they have helped millions of women across the world in increasing the size of their breasts with natural-looking results.
The use of saline breast implants for breast augmentation operations in individuals over the age of 18 has been approved by the FDA.
Breast Implant Replacement
Women frequently desire to replace their implants at some time.
Breast implant replacement surgery can do this.
While developments in breast implant technology have enabled long-lasting and natural-looking outcomes, the truth remains that implants do not endure forever and must be replaced on a regular basis.
Other reasons why women opt to switch their implants include:
- To switch from saline to silicone or vice-versa
- To increase or decrease breast size
- To further enhance shape and projection of the breasts
- To address dissatisfaction from a previous breast implant procedure

FAQ's
FAQ about Breast Implants
Dr. Ampudia usually performs the surgery in his AAAASF-certified operating room. After the surgery, you will spend a few hours in the recovery area and then go home later in the day. The surgical site will only have a special bra and some gauze over the incisions.
During your first post-operative appointment, your surgeon will inspect the incisions. There will typically be no sutures to remove since they are all placed on the inside. Although your breasts may appear full and swollen initially, they will eventually take a more natural appearance over the first few weeks. It generally takes about three months for all of the swelling to subside and for your breasts to fully remodel.
It is rare for anyone to report a genuine allergy to silicone, as it is widely considered to be a safe substance for implantation in the body. However, in some cases, scar tissue may form around the implants, resulting in the breast feeling firmer. This is known as a capsule, and its occurrence can range from 2% to 10%. Dr. Ampudia can reduce and treat the formation of capsules.
